Bengkel Penguasaan AddMaths
This bengkel is for students who failed Add Maths. It is not a revision sprint for someone chasing an A. It starts at the fundamentals, because a failing paper is rarely failing on the chapter in front of it — it is usually an unrepaired gap in earlier algebra that every later chapter is built on, and more practice on the chapter will not touch it.
From there, exam questions graded to the real standard, taken from banksoalan.my — Chegu Khairi's own question bank, over 12,000 questions built from papers since 2002 and used by 76 teachers across Malaysia. A pupil here works the same questions those teachers set their own classes, and finds out where the marks are actually awarded before the exam is the thing that tells them.
Students work questions throughout rather than sit and listen — and what they hand in is marked the same day, with Chegu Khairi's feedback on it, and sent back to the student by the end of the day. He marks every paper himself, not an assistant. Few holiday workshops mark anything at all: most send a student home with a set of notes. Here a pupil knows before the next morning which of their own mistakes cost marks — so the habit gets fixed on day two of the bengkel, not in the exam hall.

Fokus kepada pelajar lemah yang gagal atau mendapat markah 50 ke bawah. Pelajar akan belajar konsep asas setiap topik, sebelum melangkah ke soalan-soalan standard peperiksaan yang digunakan daripada banksoalan.my milik Chegu Khairi yang digunakan oleh 76 guru serata Malaysia. Latihan diberikan dan ditanda oleh Chegu Khairi sendiri. Dua minggu selepas bengkel tamat, setiap pelajar dapat laporan penuh dalam aplikasi, dengan paparan berasingan untuk ibu bapa. Held in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, with students travelling in from Subang, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Two weeks after the bengkel ends every pupil gets a full report in the app, with a parent view of its own, and every pupil keeps the marked working.

A correction at the whiteboard is aimed at the room. A pupil whose working went wrong somewhere else takes nothing from it. They just watch someone else's mistake being fixed. A written remark is directed at their own maths.

A spoken explanation usually repeats the whole method. Pupils scoring 50 and below often know the basic method, but trip over one small step. The written remark sits exactly on the line where the working broke.

Every homework script is marked by Chegu Khairi himself, not an assistant. It is returned to the pupil by the end of the same day. The errors on these papers are then discussed in the next class, so the whole room benefits.

The question every parent ends up asking is whether the child is actually working. The answer does not come from the child, it comes from the system.

Each time the child submits, the parent is emailed: how many of the questions are answered out of the total, the marking so far, the closing date, and a link straight to the marked script. The email asks the parent to approve, so it is not something that passes unnoticed.

About an hour after a script is marked, the pupil gets a summary of their own work. That one is for the pupil, not the parent. The person who has to repair the working is the one who wrote it.

Two weeks after the bengkel ends, every pupil gets a full report in the app, with a view of its own for parents. The two weeks are deliberate: corrections finished after the last session are counted. In it: which chapters are strong and which are weak, the mistakes that keep repeating in the marker's own words, and the corrections still owed. It is in the app, not emailed.

Inilah satu perkara di rumah yang paling banyak memberi kesan: pastikan latihan dihantar, dan dihantar pada hari ia diberi. Jika jumlah jawapan yang dihantar tak cukup, peringatan dihantar kepada pelajar dan ibu bapa.
Everything above is built from the work your child sends through the app. If nothing is sent there is nothing to mark, no email reaches you, and the report is empty. This is the single thing at home that changes the most: see that the exercises are submitted, and submitted on the day they are set. If the number of answers submitted falls short, a reminder goes to the pupil and to you.

Plenty of students lose marks on questions they genuinely understand — through presentation, time management, or not recognising what the question is actually asking for. That is what a bengkel is for.
